Morning Drop-Off & Afternoon Pick-Up Procedures

 

Morning Drop-Off

  • Students eating breakfast may arrive beginning at 7:30 a.m. and go directly into the cafeteria. 

  • Students who are not having breakfast will proceed directly to the playground between 7:40 - 8:00 a.m. Playground supervision begins at 7:40 am.

  • Bus students will be dropped off at the AES Main Entrance. 

  • Drivers transporting students by private vehicle must:

    • Observe the 10 mph speed limit on school grounds.

    • Follow the traffic loop in the upper parking lot.

    • Stop only long enough for students to safely exit the vehicle.

    • Do not pass a school bus while students are unloading.

  • Please be mindful of the Safe Student Lane that runs the length of the school building. Vehicles should never drive in, cross, or park in this lane, as doing so endangers the safety of our students.

Afternoon Dismissal

Students are dismissed at 2:30 p.m.

  • Bus riders will be dismissed from the cafeteria.

  • Car pick-up takes place in a continuous moving line at the Main Entrance. Staff will escort students to their vehicles. Please remain in the pick-up line and follow staff directions.

  • Please be mindful of the Safe Student Lane that runs the length of the school building. Vehicles should never drive in, cross, or park in this lane.

  • Walker pick-up takes place at the Ober entrance. Parents and guardians picking up students as walkers should not park on school grounds, as this interferes with traffic flow during dismissal. Staff will release students once they have made visual contact with the authorized adult, or with parent permission, students will be dismissed to walk independently.
