Congratulations Warrior Award Winners

Congratulations to Blair Farris, Leighanna MacKay and Alexa Marucci who were named Ashland Elementary School 2021 Winter Warrior Award recipients. These students were selected by their tier teachers because they are a positive force within our community.  Their attitude, effort and behavior make them role-models for all of our members. Warrior Award recipients consistently incorporate the AES Core Values of honesty, respect, integrity, caring, loyalty, citizenship, responsibility and fairness into their daily lives.

Blair Farris’ Primary Tier teachers describe her as a student who exemplifies our school’s core values while also being a strong leader in the classroom.  She is a caring citizen who is helpful to her peers as well a kind, fair, empathetic and honest student.  She is always striving to do her best and inadvertently helps others to do their best as well.  She is driven to succeed and displays a strong work ethic on a daily basis.

Leighanna Mackay was named the Intermediate Tier Warrior Award winner.  According to her teachers, she is an active participant in all of her classes where her attitude and enthusiasm for learning positively influences her classmates. She is the first to assist any student while consistently managing her own learning.  She is caring, friendly, fair and a leader among our students.

The Middle Tier selection for the Warrior Award is Alexa Marucci.  Her teachers recognized that being a new student is not an easy task; however, they commended Alexa for her solid transition to her new school.  She immediately joined the Volleyball Team where she quickly became a leader and mentor for other players.  Not only is she a talented athlete, she leads with integrity by encouraging her teammates to be their best both on and off the court.  Additionally, Alexa is a caring citizen in our school community

Although social distancing requirements prevented the traditional all school meeting to recognize these students, families were invited to come to the school building and the event was live streamed in to the classrooms. The Ashland Elementary School community is proud of all that these students have accomplished.
