Sponsors Successful Food Drive

According to WhyHunger.org, 11.8 percent of the households in America suffer from food insecurity. That’s approximately 14,893,960 families who struggle to buy food for themselves and their children. This is an issue that needs to be solved, and Ashland Elementary School is trying to do something about it. This month, they held a food drive to assist the hungry families of Ashland. The AES Student Council and their “Community Outreach” committee members organized the food drive. With their work on posters, contests, and others forms of advertising, they collected a total of over two hundred food items.
