AES Students Once Again Participate in Fisher Cats Reading Challenge

Ashland Elementary School K-5 students kicked off their Fisher Cats Reading Challenge with a visit from Fisher Cats Broadcasting and Media Relations Manager Tyler Murray and Slider, one of the NH Fisher Cats mascots.

The purpose of the assembly was to share a love of reading with the students and Mr. Murray read one of his favorite books, The Invisible Boy, by Trudy Ludwig to the students.  He then asked students to share the name of their favorite books with him and recorded the information on a special poster that will be displayed during upcoming Fisher Cats’ games.

The Fisher Cats Reading Challenge, presented by Velcro Companies, challenges students to read five (5) books outside of the normal curriculum during the school year. The students who complete the challenge will earn two (2) tickets to a 2018 New Hampshire Fisher Cats game at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium at a special "Reading Challenge" celebration, presented by Velcro Companies.   Also, Cash prizes totaling $5,000 will be awarded by the Fisher Cats and the Fisher Cats Foundation to the schools with the highest percentage of students who complete the challenge
